2008 First Saturday Sampler Demonstration
Saturday, Feb. 2, March 1, April 5,
etc. 8:30-11am
A new series starts February 2008
Join us on the first Saturday of each
month for a quick lesson in quilt
making. We will be making 12" blocks in two different colorways, Dots
or
Thirties. Like any quilting bee, we will get together once a month and
share information on a particular technique, what's new, and other bits of
information. The first time you come you will purchase 2 yards of
background fabric and one of our block kits for $5. Come back the next
time and, if you have completed your block, you get the next one FREE!

Here's how it works:
- We will open the doors at 8:30 on
the First Saturday, starting February 2, 2008, but you will have until
11 am to get your ticket for your free block.
- When you come in, you'll show your
completed block at the door to get the free ticket (starting in
March). Then you can go to the demo area, where there will be a
display of new items, a small ongoing demonstration, and a staff
member highlighting that month's block.
There are a few conditions:
- If you want to make a block in both
colorways, that's great. But, you only get 1 free kit a month. You
must pay for the other one.
- To get your free kit, you have to
come yourself on the First Saturday
between 8:30 and 11 am. No exceptions. Don't BEE late! Don't send
someone else to get your block!
- If you can't come one Saturday, you
can buy that month's kit for $5.00
while supplies last. You can call us and we'll be happy to save a kit
for
you. Bring it to the next month's class and that month's kit is free.
- We will not make each month's kits
indefinitely. Once the kits are gone, the pattern will be available
for $1.50 each month, and you can use your own stash. However, the
block you bring back has to be from our kit to earn a free kit!
- Both colorways are very scrappy,
and we'll have a variety of fat quarters available each month to make
extra blocks or scrappy borders. The fabrics might not be what's in
the block, depending on the availability of the fabrics. Scrappy is
great!
